The plight of the Bluefin Tuna.

  

This week on WebbliWorld, in association with WWF, we highlight the plight of the Bluefin Tuna which has now been over-fished to the brink of extinction. We believe that if a child is having fun on their computer they might as well learn something, too. And, this is a simple story that they can understand. Also this week, our roving reporter, Wanda, is telling kids about Thanksgiving and Wij, our science boffin, talks about that laid-back planet, Uranus.

Calling all budding film makers!

 

Here at WebbliWorld we're always keen to encourage kids to be creative. The new Animate It '09 is a great opportunity for kids aged between 4 and 12 to show off their skills by making a trailer for their favourite book. Reading and creativity - what an inspiring combination. The prizes are great, too and include some excellent animation software. This competition is a great fit for us because of our relationship with one of the greatest animation studios of them all - Aardman. If you're a teacher, why not involve your class? It's open to whole classes and after-school clubs, too. Good luck!

Aardman create the WebbliPod.

   We've shown you the new logo and the feedback has been fantastic. Well, here's a sneak preview of the WebbliPod - the fantastic new Webbli home designed by Aardman Animations. This is just part of the amazing new WebbliWorld that will be exploding on your computer screen in February. The difference between us and so many virtual worlds out there is that we've gone for the best - Aardman's creative flair and technical know-how promises to deliver a really new online experience for 5-12 year olds.
