This week on WebbliWorld, we're covering such topics as bird migration and autumn leaf colour. Wij, our science boffin discovers how birds use their amazing internal clocks to travel thousands of miles every year in search of food. Wez, meanwhile, explores the science behind changing leaf colours in the autumn. As usual, both articles contain links to great sites that have more relevant information for hungry young minds. 

After all that serious stuff, time for some fun!  We've added two great new games: Splat an Inky and Bloboku. I warn you, they're just as much fun for adults!

Our users are never backwards in coming forwards! We receive emails all the time with suggestions and comments. And, we actively encourage this dialogue. Kids' expectations are incredibly high and in order to be relevant we need to listen to their views. Explaining the Large Hadron Collider to kids.

I'm not hugely suprised that kids have been worrying about the effects of this monmental experiment. I have struggled to find any kid-friendly articles about the LHC. We use Wij, our science boffin, to keep kids abreast of what's happening in the world of science so I was hopeful that we could provide some interesting and reassuring links about the LHC. But I have failed to find any. I find this very disappointing. The whole question of how the universe was formed is surely one that could inspire many children to become scientists. Many kids' science sites seem simply to focus on the curriculum without actually flagging up what's happening right now.

This week on WebbliWorld....

 

There's all sorts of stuff going on for kids on our ever-expanding website.  This week, Wij investigates Biofuels with some great links to help kids understand what they're all about. Wez celebrates the Boy Scouts whose first rally was held on 4th September 1909. Wanda, meanwhile, invites users to send in their holiday stories. Plus, there are new games to play which have all been checked out by us.

Last, but definitely NOT least - Aardman are embarking on the first phase of a huge site redesign. Kids will be able to move their characters around, talk to each other, live in their special eco-home and much more! As you'd expect from WebbliWorld, this new phase will be even crazier, funnier and more exciting than anything you've seen yet! And, it'll be educational, to boot!
