What can kids do for global warming?
I think everyone agrees now that global warming is going to dramatically affect the living conditions for plants and animals across the globe. And, most scientists believe that the burning of fossil fuels is the main cause of it.
We don’t have to wait to tell our kids to do something about global warming until they are grown up. People of all ages use energy and we can all help slow down global warming by saving energy. By teaching children to understand that everything they do has an impact on their environment, we can instil them with a sense of responsibility that they will take forward into their adult lives.
There are many ways to teach young people to save energy in everyday life, not least through the example we ourselves set as parents.
TVs, lamps and computers use electricity. Cookers, washing machines and heaters use gas or electricity. If you want to find ways to use these household appliances more energy-efficiently, then have a look at the home energy saving tips at Mummies Coffee Break. These include turning off lights when they are not needed, preventing your computer from hibernating and unplugging unused devices.
It seems that British children already have favourite ways of saving energy. In a survey by E.ON UK which let kids rate a number of ideas aimed at changing the way we use energy, the most popular option was “walking to school”.
WebbliWorld.com cares about our children’s future and the concerns we all feel as parents about the world they must inherit. That’s why we encourage children to help stop global warming and to conserve the natural environment. For this reason we have been working with the WWF, one of the world's biggest conservation networks, to provide children with accurate information about the natural world. We want to empower children – to give them the understanding that allows them to make a difference. It’s very important to us that children believe they can change their world.
If every Webbli saves energy, respects the environment and recycles, we believe we can all start to make a difference.

"It’s very important to us that children believe they can change their world."
The more crucial point is this:
It's very important for children to experience adults changing their world for the better.
Kids need to learn about climate change and also need to know that many adults are doing all we can to combat the effects and reduce future impacts.
